Based in New York City, Big Brother Productions (BBP) was founded in 2002 by Lorin Maazel to commission and manage the stage production for the world premiere of Maestro Maazel's opera "1984." As an independent production company in the world of grand opera, BBP aspires to establish a new model for the creation and financing of productions that combine the highest artistic standards with the flexibility of adaptation to a range of theatres worldwide.
BBP¹s production of "1984," in collaboration with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, has been realized by Le Project Ex Machina of Quebec City, under the guidance of director Robert Lepage.
