NEILSON VIGNOLA - Assistant Director

Since he finished his studies at National Theater School of Canada (Montréal) in 1980, he has worked for the majority of Montréal's theater companies, as tour manager, production manager, director's assistant or stage manager. Has participated in many festivals, events and musicals such as, for example, Festival Juste pour Rire, Festival international de nouvelle Danse - FIND, Rendez-Vous 87, Festival de théâtre des Amériques, Demain matin Montréal m'attend. His first step in the field of opera was in 1981 as stage manager for Opéra de Québec. He later became production manager for Opéra de Montréal (1990-93). Through opera, he worked as an assistant to Robert Altman and Robert Lepage, for La Damnation de Faust (Matsumoto, Japan, 1999 - Paris, France, 2001). At the Cirque du Soleil since 1998, he worked as technical director for Saltimbanco, tour manager, project manager and, since 2002, assistant to Robert Lepage for the production KÀ, wich opened in February 2005 in Las Vegas (USA). He will be Mr Lepage's assistant for the opera 1984, scheduled to be presented by Royal Opera House in London (UK) in May 2005.
