| MICHEL BEAULIEU - Lighting Designer Since the 1960's, Michel Beaulieu's gifts see him lighting a wide variety of productions ranging from mainstream or repertory theatre to the most difficult of alternative works, including pop concerts at the Montreal Forum, operas at the Place des Arts to musicals like Starmania. His designs have also been seen in Europe and on television. He has won four ADISQ awards for his concert designs. Since 1981, he has been lighting designer in residence at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, the most important theater company in the province of Québec. He regularly teaches at the National Theatre School. In recent years, he has designed for many important directors and has worked in most of Montréal's theaters. He also designed a Cirque du Soleil show (Dralion, 1999). |
