| MARC BOIVIN - Assistant Choreographer Marc Boivin begins his career with the Groupe de la Place Royale, in Ottawa, under direction of Peter Boneham. In 1985, he meets Ginette Laurin, who invites him to join her young company: O Vertigo. For the next six years, he participates in creations and tours in Canada, the United States and Europe. Since 1991, as a free lance dancer, it is mostly with choreographers like Louise Bédard, Sylvain Émard, Jean-Pierre Perreault, Tedd Robinson and Catherine Tardif that he has been seen in Montréal and abroad. Passionnate for teaching as much as peforming, he is part of the LADMMI team since 1987 and teaches regularly in schools and universities in Canada. He as given sessions in Vancouver, at the EDAM Summer Intensive, where he works with the improvising groupe The Echo Case, and in Europe. Marc Boivin is a recipient of the Jacqueline Lemieux Prize from the Canada Arts Council (1999). |
