At the age of three, Johnnie’s Great-Grandfather told her, “Just sing for the people little Johnnie” as he took her took her to the roadside revivals in the countryside of Monongahela, Pennsylvania and she has been singing ever since. She launched her international career in 1998 with an appearance on VH1 Europe’s Take it to the Bridge as a singer/songwriter and has extensively toured major clubs and festivals of the UK and Europe.

Johnnie’s voice in song and spoken form has been heard in films, commercials and video games including Coca-Cola and Pepsi campaigns, the Power Rangers’ theme, Disney’s soundtrack of Hercules, The Teletubbies and Brum. She made her West End debut as Mabeline in 125th Street at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2002 and appeared in Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2003.

1984 marks Johnnie’s Royal Opera House debut.
